Worship and Sunday Mornings
We believe worship is a kind of “dialogue” – a conversation between God and the church. He reveals Himself to us through the reading and preaching of His word (the Old and New Testaments of the Bible) and through our weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper (or “communion”) – and we respond in prayer and praise. This is why the Bible informs all that we do, say, and sing on Sunday mornings.
The tone of our worship service is one of both celebration and reverent intimacy, and our worship music combines traditional hymns with newer worship songs. This singing is supported by a diverse group of volunteer musicians – whether our 12-piece worship orchestra or just a few guitars or piano.
When you arrive you will be welcomed by a greeter who will give you a worship bulletin containing the order of service for that morning. All music to be sung, responsive prayers and creeds, and the text for the sermon, are printed in the bulletin.
Location and Parking
We meet at the Town Hall Auditorium, 50 South Main Street in West Hartford. Free parking is available in the adjacent Town Hall lot. When entering the gated lot, take a ticket from the dispenser and be sure to have it stamped and validated in the Town Hall foyer.
What to Wear
You will see a wide range of attire, from jeans and casual shirts to jackets and ties, and will likely feel at home in anything you choose.
We love our children and strive to make church a place they want to be!
Nursery — a staffed nursery is provided for children ages newborn to 3.
Children’s Church — During the sermon, children ages 4 to 6 will be dismissed from the service for Children’s Church where they will be instructed in the elements of corporate worship, hear age-appropriate teaching based on the pastor’s sermon for that day, and learn hymns sung in corporate worship as well as instructional songs about Scripture. This will hopefully give parents an opportunity to dialogue with their kids about worship and facilitate a more cohesive worship experience for families each week. The last Sunday of each month is Family Worship, and children will remain in the worship service for the whole time.
Come and worship with us!
